The Zumbi + 10 March took place in Brasília, on November 16th, 2005, and was marked by the leading role of black women. The March was elaborated to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Zumbi March, which had happened in Brasília in 1995. Some divergencies during the preparation led to two different marches: one on November 16th, organized by about 180 Black Movement organizations, mainly black women; and the other one on November 22nd, organized by union centers and non-governmental entities, with the participation of black movement organizations, unions, and representatives of political parties.
