In 1987, during the 3rd Conference of the Center for Teachers of Rio de Janeiro (CEP), an expansion of the membership basis was decided upon, to include other Education professionals who are not teachers. The entity was then renamed State Center for Education Professionals (CEPE). At the microphone: Hildézia Medeiros (then CEP President).
