About 500 people participated in the ‘March for Citizenship’ that ended the 17th International Gay and Lesbian Conference, the theme of which was no to intolerance and to prejudice, and a defense of the rights of all the marginalized. The 17th International Gay and Lesbian Conference was organized by the - International Lesbian and Gay Association (ILGA), which congregates homosexual entities from several countries. It was the first time the conference was held in Latin America, from 19th to 25th June, bringing together homosexuals from Brazil and from abroad, and culminating with debates about the attainment of civil rights, such as the formalization of the stable union and the right to adopt.
