May 24th is the day of Saint Sara Kali, protector of the Gypsy people. Every year on this day, a celebration takes place in the Garota de Ipanema Park, where the Saint Sara Kali’s Grotto is located. On that day, the gypsy community gathers to celebrate their traditions and also commemorate the National Gypsy Day.
