The 2009 WSF, the first to be held in the Amazon, was attended by 135,000 participants from 142 countries. The World Social Forum (WSF) is an alter-globalization event organized by social movements of all continents, in order to develop alternatives for global social transformation. Its slogan is ‘Another world is possible’.
