WOMEN, DIALOGUES ON PUBLIC SECURITY
Rio de Janeiro
26/04/2009
The 'Women, Dialogues on Public Security' project was an initiative of the Special Secretariat for Policies for Women - SPM and was supported by three United Nations agencies: UNODC (Drugs and Crimes), UNIFEM (Women) and UNFPA ( Population Fund). Six meetings occurred in different regions of the country, bringing together women from different social classes and areas of occupation, along with specialists in Public Security. The goal was to build a report for the I National Conference on Public Security, with suggestions that would guarantee the inclusion of the gender perspective in public policies in the area of security.
