The National Council for the Rights of Women - CNDM was created in 1985 with the purpose of articulating women's demands with the government. From 2003, with the creation of the Secretariat for Policies for Women-SPM, the Council became part of the structure of the Secretariat and had, in its composition, representatives of civil society and the government.
