Delivery of the Recognition and Applause Motion to Maria da Penha Fernandes. Maria de Penha is a biopharmaceutical from Ceará, who became paraplegic when she was a victim of domestic violence by the hands of her husband, who tried to kill her. The Law 11.340 / 06, which considers domestic violence as a crime, known as the Maria da Penha Law, was named in honor of Maria da Penha Maia Fernandes, who fought for twenty years to see her attacker arrested.
