The Saint Christopher Fair was founded in 1948 by people from the Northeast who brought their local products to sell in Rio de Janeiro City. At first, buses heading to the Northeast departed from the Saint Christopher Field so that the fair became a meeting point for people from the northeast who gathered there on Sundays to listen to music, buy and eat typical foods from the Northeast.
