First International Meeting of Women of the Amazon Forest

The meeting’s theme was Women, Environment and Development, and it brought together 280 women from all the Brazilian states that comprise the Brazilian Legal Amazon Region, and from Amazonian countries such as Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Peru and Colombia. The Articulated Movement of Women from the Amazon / MAMA was created at that occasion.
