LAUNCH OF THE IYÁ AGBÁ PROGRAM TO SUPPORT AFRICAN MATRIX HOUSES

State University of Rio de Janeiro - UERJ. Launch of the Iyá Àgba Program to Support African Matrix Houses. The project was carried out by the NGO Criola and the terreiros of African Matrix Ilê Omim Ojuaro, Yá Majele O, Ala Koro Wo, and Omulu and Oxum, all of them run by women, with the support of the Special Secretariat for Policies for Women (SPM). Its main objectives were to strengthen the interaction of traditional terreiros with community leaders, and provide new opportunities for work and income for women from the periphery of Rio de Janeiro, Nova Iguaçu, and São João do Meriti, through professional training and training in Human Rights and citizenship.
